2 Persons Arrested For Attempting To Rape A Girl After Offering Lift In Cab 

Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a woman on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday.

The woman who works as a software engineer in Gachibowli was waiting for a Vijayawada bus in the wee hours on Thursday in LB Nagar. The woman belongs to Guntur. When a cab driver approached her saying that there is an empty seat in the car and promised her to drop in Vijayawada. Along with driver, there was a man and a woman in the car.

The cab driver headed towards Vijayawada. After travelling some distance, the driver and other man attempted to rape her. When the car reached Pathangi tollbooth near Chautuppal, the girl flung out from the car and alerted the locals. They came to her rescue and the accused were handed over to the police.

The police registered a case under Nirbhaya Act and took the miscreants Mahesh and Nicholas into custody.
