2 People Held For Not Standing For National Anthem In Theater

Hyderabad: Two people were arrested after they did not stand up when the National Anthem was being played at Inox theater in Kachiguda on Saturday.

According to the reports, a journalist has lodged a complaint with the police against the two people for violating the rule. He alleged that when the National Anthem was played before the movie screening, all of them rose from their seats except the two.

Police arrived at the theater and took the two into custody. A case was registered under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act-1971.

The Supreme court on November 30 ordered all the cinema halls across the country should play National Anthem before the screening of the movie. "When the National Anthem was played, it is imperative for everyone to show honor and respect and also to inculcate a committed patriotism and nationalism," the court said.
