Maoist killed in shootout
Vishakapatnam: Two Maoists were killed in shootout with police in Gorrelametta forest area near Koyyuru mandal Vishakapatnam on Friday morning. They were identified as Gemmeli Narayan Rao alias Jambri and Chitti Babu alias Kishore. Jambri was the divisional member of the Galikonda area committee. Whereas Chitti Babu hails from GK Veedhi, Mettuguda mandal.
Jambri played a key role in Balimela Incident in 2008. The government has placed Rs 4 lakh reward on him. The police also arrested Gopala Rao, who belongs to Gorrelametta village, for his suspected connection with Maoists. The police recovered a Thompson sub-machine gun, a short gun and detonators.
