2 Killed After Hyderabad-Bengaluru SRS Travels Bus Rams Into Lorry

Anantapur: Two passengers died and at least 20 others sustained injuries after a private bus they were traveling in crashed into a stationary lorry on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway at Rudrampet in Anantapur district in the wee hours of Monday.

The bus belonging to SRS Travels, started from Hyderabad around 10pm on Sunday with 53 passengers on board. All of them were bound for Bengaluru. As the bus was on its way, the driver suddenly lost control and rammed into a lorry which was parked off the road between. The tragedy happened between 3am-4am, it is learned.

The driver also sustained injuries. The injured have been rushed to a hospital in Anantapur and the bodies of the dead would be shifted to Hyderabad after post-mortem. The names of the victims are yet to be confirmed.
