2 die, 25 injured while returning from interring ashes

Manthani (Karimnagar): A family met with a road accident at Podurupalli of Mahadevpur mandal in Karimnagar district on Friday, while they were returning after interring the ashes of their relatives in the river. While 2 died, 25 were left injured.

According to police details, Mohan Reddy who belongs to S Peta of Mogullapalli mandal of Warangal district, went to immerse the ashes of his parents’ in the Godavari river at Kaleshwaram along with his entire family. While they were returning after the rituals, the vehicle that the family was travelling in met with an accident when one of the vehicles' tyres burst. The accident claimed 2 lives including 25 members injured.

All the injured were shifted to the nearest hospital by the locals. The condition of two of the injured is said to be serious. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
