Andhra Pradesh government will set up 15 more marine police stations along the coast in the state, Deputy Chief Minister N Chinna Rajappa said on Tuesday. Fifteen more marine police stations will be set up soon in addition to the existing 21 such police stations in the state, he told reporters after launching the I-CLIK (Instant Complaint Login Internet Kiosk) and mobile app 'Abhayam' for safety of citizens, particularly women. 

I-CLIK enables citizens to log their grievances through an online kiosk. It focuses specifically on women's problems and issues. He said the kiosk has been launched in the city as a pilot project and based on its performance, it will be adopted in other cities in the state. Referring to Abhayam, the Minister said that it will empower citizens to have the power to protect themselves. At the click of the button, the app will send a notification to the person's near and dear ones and nearest police station. 

The Home Minister said that the state government has effectively controlled the red sanders' smuggling in the state and a task force has also been established for the purpose. The police department is taking all necessary steps to prevent 'ganja' smuggling in the state, particularly in agency areas of the district, he said.
The police department is striving hard to provide efficient, transparent and responsive administration in the state aided by latest technology and gadgets, he said. Stating that Visakhapatnam is a peaceful city, he said unlawful elements will be firmly dealt by the police.
State Director General of Police J V Rumudu said people's cooperation is essential to control crimes. He appealed to girl students, who were present at the function, to utilise the facilities launched by the police for their safety.
