Leaders from Seemandhra region have finally decided to quit their respective posts protesting against the Congress decision to carve out a separate state in Andhra Pradesh.

Over 13 ministers, 20 MLAs and 9 MLCs of the Congress party decided to submit resignations by the evening.

They said that they will be submitting the resignations in the speaker format.

They have set 5 pm today as the time to submit their resignations. They also demanded that Union ministers and MPs from Seemandhra region resign from their posts.

The legislators are expected to meet Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy in the evening to submit their resignations. When reporters questioned the need to submit resignations to the CM, they refused to comment.

Reports say that CM Kiran told the Samaikyandhra supporters not to lose heart. Kiran reportedly told the ministers that he too is not satisfied with the outcome but have to come to terms with it and asked them to do the same.

It remains to be seen how many wickets will fall by evening.
