11 Dead in Car-Lorry Collision in Vizag

Vizag: At least 11 persons including four women and three children died on the spot when a speeding car lost control, hit a bike and rammed into a heavy load lorry head on near Vizag on Sunday.

Eight persons of a family and their driver were traveling in the car which lost control after its tyre burst due to scorching temperatures on the highway. The car jumped into the opposite road and hit a bike killing the rider on the spot and the pillion rider, the victim's son died while being shifted to hospital.

There were four women, three children, an elderly man and their driver and all were mowed down by the lorry which was laden with heavy pipes. The bodies were crushed so badly that they could not be identified immediately. The bike riding father-son duo was identified as Chiranjeevi Raju and Sagar Varma.  

Retrieval of bodies from the car was going on.
