Kandy (Sri Lanka): Indian cricket team led by its captain Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri on Tuesday hoisted the Indian tri-colour on the occasion of Independence Day at Kandy city in the central Sri Lanka. The team is camping in the city as part of their tour in the island nation.

The team India gathered outside their hotel and unfurled the tricolour after which the national anthem was sung. A video of Independence Day celebrations was also posted on the social media by the BCCI Twitter handle.

Earlier in the tour, the Indian side swept the test series by registering a thumping victory in the third test with 171 runs. The One-Day International (ODI) series is going to start from August 20 (Sunday).
