Family Attempts Suicide At CM Chandrababu’s House
Amaravati: A family of four attempted suicide at chief minister N Chandrababu's residence by consuming pesticide, on Friday.
The head of the family Gangula Srinivasa Reddy, a native of Proddatur in YSR Kadapa, had been trying to get the CM's appointment since 10 days. He said that minister Adinarayana Reddy's relative Kesava Reddy had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from him in 2012. However, despite repeated pleas Kesava Reddy failed to repay the amount to Srinivasa Reddy. The latter said he wanted the money urgently for the medical treatment of his two daughters and therefore planned to meet the chief minister to narrate his woes.
Failing to get an appointment, Srinivasa Reddy and his family attempted to commit suicide. But the security personnel's timely intervention prevented the family from resorting to the extreme step. They have been shifted to Tadepalli police station.
