“TDP Vijaya Yatra is ridiculous’

Stating that the TDP Government has no moral right to celebrate the Vijaya Yatra to mark the completion of one year in office, the YSR Congress Party has said that the State Government has failed to mount pressure on the Centre to accord special status.

It has also failed to realize the assurances given in the State Reorganisation Bill, the party said.

“TDP is making light of the special status issue while Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who spoke vociferously on the special status, is mum now and not a single issue mentioned in the Bill was taken up in Parliament. Chandrababu Naidu on his part has failed to fulfill all the poll promises mentioned in the manifesto,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters on Tuesday.

TDP has announced the date of laying foundation stone to the proposed capital city only after our leader has announced that he would undertake a two-day deeksha. This is a meek attempt by the ruling party to preempt YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s programme but our protest will continue as it is aimed at highlighting the failures of TDP and YSR Congress is not against the capital formation, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu has included numerous promises and assurances in the manifesto. When he was reminded of the burden that would befall on the state, he categorically stated that he is aware how to garner funds to overcome the revenue deficit.  

Chandrababu Naidu has also written to the Election Commission that he is aware of the implications of his poll assurances and said all his promises were feasible and he has done the arithmetic before giving the assurances. “Not a single promise was fulfilled even after the first year coming to an end and the State celebrating the one year in office is ridiculous,” he said.
