Telangana Ration Dealers To Stage Indefinite Strike From July 5

Telangana Ration Dealers Association President Nayakoti Raju - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Telangana Ration Dealers Association President Nayakoti Raju warned the state government of holding an indefinite strike if their monthly salaries and other dues were not paid within July 5. Addressing a meeting of ration dealers here today, he said that it is cruel on part of the government in not even inviting them for a dialogue, even though they had called for an indefinite strike. Only in Telangana ration dealers are not provided job security, he remarked.

With the support of All India Ration Dealers, we are planning to stage a protest along with the 5 lakh ration dealers across the country, Raju said.

"If not for the contribution of ration dealers, would the state government have received awards in the Civil Supplies department?" he questioned. If the government finds a trace of duplicate finger prints or illegal practices, I will resign from my post, he asserted. Our demands are in compliance with the National Food Security Act of 2015, Raju said.

The state government does not reserve the rights to suspend ration dealers, who have been serving the masses since 35 years, he said. More than 80 per cent of the Self Help Groups and Women's organizations are not ready to supply the goods, he added.

The women's organizations should extend their complete support for our fight, he pleaded. The Ration Dealers Association is ready to go forward under the direction of its Honorary President Padma Devender Reddy, he added.
