Congress Made Telangana State Possible: Uttam
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Uttam Kumar Reddy reminded the people of the state that the state has been bifurcated behind closed doors. This was informed by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself in Parliament on Friday, he said.
Speaking to media here today at Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam said Congress was the reason for granting separate statehood for Telangana, fact that was indirectly accepted by Modi too. He alleged that there was a secret understanding between KCR and Modi. This was the reason TRS leaders criticised BJP before the people, while their leaders had an understanding. After getting statehood for Telangana, KCR had conveniently forgotten Congress, he remarked.
TPCC president demanded to know why the Telangana MPs didn't raise their voice in Parliament during the no-trust vote, while their counterparts from AP were seen expressing their views. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had said that he would go to any extent for clearing the Muslim reservations. "Then why didn't the TRS MPs raise the issue in Parliament yesterday?" he questioned.
Uttam said Congress President Rahul Gandhi's speech was the highlight and his gesture of hugging Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be remembered in history.
