Chandrababu’s Rule Huge Disaster: YS Jagan
The Andhra Pradesh Leader of Opposition and YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began his public meeting in Mummidivaram constituency in East Godavari district amid thunderous rounds of applause and showers of affection from people and party workers.
Thousands of people matched steps with the people's leader and accorded a warm reception. Addressing a huge gathering of people here, the YSRCP Chief thanked everyone who walked alongside me during the course of his padayatra today. "I fold both my hands and bow down my head in reverence to all of you who assembled here," he said.
The Konaseema region has a lifeline in the Godavari river, yet the people of the state do not have drinking water and irrigation to the farmlands, YS Jagan said. Various petroleum industries prevail in this region, but unemployment is on the rise in this region, he added.
"I spoke with a few farmers, who have explained their sorry state in the last four years, he said. The government did not provide the minimum support price (MSP) for the rice and coconut farmers, YS Jagan remarked. The price of the coconut crop is meant to be Rs 1,500 per quintal, but the Chandrababu government is failing to give at least Rs 1,200, the opposition leader noted.
Farmers of this region, who are in distress, have informed me that the rice crop is hardly given a price of Rs 1,130, while the MSP is Rs 1,550, YS Jagan said. "Former Chief Minister, late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy striven for the welfare of the delta region. Dr YSR began several water schemes but this government completely failed in implementing them. Many drinking water projects in I. Polavaram, Katrenikona and Mummidivaram have been shut down by the TDP government," YS Jagan said.

In 2011, farmers from this region declared a crop holiday in demand for irrigation waters in the month of June, in time for the cultivation of rice crop, YS Jagan remembered. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu promised water in the first week of June in 2014, yet, even after four years, there is no progress in the situation, he alleged. Even after Chandrababu was shown the yellowish water by local women, he has failed to address the drinking water problem, he criticized.
Around 40 villages in this region including Kothapalem, Chakalipeta, Gollapeta, cherrayanam, Valasa Dibba, Vetlapalem etc continue to suffer with the drinking water issue, even though the region is close to the coast-line, the YSRCP chief said.
"After I have promised electricity for Rs 2 per unit to acquatic farmers, Chandrababu realized it and decided to reduce it,"
he said. The Chandrababu government is indulging in painting dreams, six months before elections, YS Jagan remarked.
In the four years of Chandrababu's rule, not even a single crop was given MSP, he said. The reason lies in the fact that Chandrababu is the leader of the brokers. Chandrababu's Heritage company purchase crops for less price from farmers and sells its products for 3-4 times the price, said.
In 2009, Dr YSR , initiated several bridge works in this region, but after his unfortunate demise, the projects have been completely ignore, he said.
The state government duped the employees of the Gujarat state petroleum corportation to the tune of Rs 130 crores, after its merger with the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), YS Jagan asserted.
With elections in 6 months, Chandrababu, who has failed in fulfilling his election promise on the liquor ban, is resorting to make false promises in the name of Dharma Porata Deeksha, he alleged.
"Ensuring waiving off of farmers and womens associations is the first priority of YSRCP. Unlike Chandrababu's false promises, we will build houses to all the poor in the state, if elected to power. TDP promised to provide jobs for every household and an unemployment insurance of Rs 2,000," YS Jagan said

YS Jagan informed that in the neighbouring states like Karnataka and Telangana, fuel prices were lesser by Rs 6-7. The YSRCP Chief added that one need not be surprised if TDP promises one kilogram of gold and a Benz car to every household in the state during the next elections.
The Leader of Opposition pointed out that earlier every house was paying electricity charges between Rs 50-100 while now the charges have gone up to Rs 500-1000 per house. He observed that over the last four years the AP CM had hiked the electricity tariff three times.
The YSRCP Chief observed that on one day, the AP CM would talk about London, Singapore and Japan, and the next day he would talk about Baahubali settings. Then he would say that AP would transformed into Singapore. YS Jagan added that the AP CM was just creating confusion in the minds of the general public. He said in the name of capital development, AP CM had gone on 22 foreign trips in the last four years. The farmers who had given away their land for capital development have been given plots in places that do not have any kind of facilities, he added.
YS Jagan pointed that the women's self-help groups were cheated and were not given loan waivers. The AP CM promised to build a house for every poor man in the state—"how many houses has he built till date?" he asked. In Dr. YSR's regime, 20,000 houses were built in this constituency, but not even a single house in the last four years, YS Jagan said. Back in 2014, Chandrababu promised to waive off farm loans, instead he has burdened the state government with a loan of Rs 87,600 crores, he said. Bank loan notices continue to harass farmers and the women's co-operative societies, he added.
The Leader of Opposition questioned where the Rs 20 lakh crores investment that has come to the state after the Partnership Summits was, as also 40 lakh jobs. YS Jagan pointed out that Chandrababu was cheating everyone, from farmers to women of self-help groups and unemployed.
According to the Bifurcation Act, promises like a petro chemical factory, international status to Vizag and Vijayawada Airports, kadapa steel plant etc. were to be fulfilled within 6 months after the elections, the YSRCP chief said. "Why did Chandrababu appoint Maharashtra BJP minister's wife to the TTD Board on April 20, after pulling out of NDA on March 16?" he questioned.
Even after the TDP pulled out of the alliance with the BJP, it was surprising that Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu visited the shooting of Balakrishna's NTR biopic, he noted.
"I need the support of the people of the state for reinstating the region," he said. After coming to power, the YSRCP will revive the fees reimbursement scheme and will extend financial support to the women's organizations and self help groups, he promised
