Chandrababu, A Factory Of Lies: YS Jagan

YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a massive public meeting in Rajahmundry - Sakshi Post

Rajahmundry: Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy described the state chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu as a 'factory of lies'. Addressing a sea of humanity this evening at the Shyamala Theatre Centre here, he said that over the past 4 years Chandrababu has been screening two movies repeatedly to the people of Andhra Pradesh. The first is Amaravati, which he has often touted as a world class capital, and which he referred to as a Singapore, and a city from Japan. Chandrababu speaks of Microsoft, Airbus, but not even a brick has been laid for a permanent building in this so-called world class capital.

The second movie Chandrababu screened is the Polavaram project, for which beyond the foundation, nothing has been done. The diaphragm wall which the AP chief minister has been bragging about is nothing but a foundation wall, which Chandrababu 'now dedicates to the nation', YS Jagan said, his voice laced with sarcasm.

The AP Chief Minister claims that 55% of the work on Polavaram project has been completed. In truth, work on the Left Canal was completed mostly during the late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's period, he pointed out to the large gathering here. Chandrababu Naidu has earned a Ph. D in deception, he said, even as the crowd roared in approval.

YS Jagan remarked that Chandrababu's false propaganda crossed all limits. For instance, the AP CM made the absurd claim that Polavaram is greater than Three Gorges Dam in China. Chandrababu says that Polavaram is his dream. The YSRCP chief said that Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister from 1995-2004. Addressing the AP CM, he said--"Polavaram is your dream today, you say. Why didn't you think of Polavaram then?"

Vaddi Veerabhadra Rao, who was back then a TDP MLA, repeatedly asked Chandrababu to take up Polavaram, YS Jagan reminded the huge gathering. Vaddi Veerabhadra Rao even took up a 3000 km cycle yatra all the way to New Delhi, he said. He felt let down by Chandrababu. Vaddi was impressed by the late Dr. YSR's interest in Polavaram, which prompted him to quit the TDP and join the Congress party at that time, he recalled. When Chandrababu tried to impede progress on the project, Vaddi got his head tonsured at the Polavaram site.

Chandrababu revised the estimated cost hiking it to an astonishing Rs. 58000 crores, driven purely by greed, YS Jagan told the massive audience. Chandrababu expects us to believe him when he says that Polavaram will be completed in a year.

Along every step of the way, people told him that Chandrababu has no fear of God . Take the case of Godavari Pushkarams, he said, for which Chandrababu had allocated 2000 cr. He did this in the name of building ghats, road repairs and a host of other things. His brazenness was such that he did not for a moment hesitate to loot money meant for a sacred mission. The AP CM is a man of such an unscrupulous character and has no conscience, the YSRCP chief observed. He asked whether such a person is fit to be CM.

During the Pushkarams 29 innocent lives were lost only on account of Chandrababu's negligence, he pointed out. The authorities stopped pilgrims when the Chief Minister was at the ghats and let the common people suddenly, and these 29 innocent pilgrims their lives.

YS Jagan observed that sand mining was rampant on both sides of the Godavari. Law and order was virtually non-existent and the system had collapsed under the weight of the ruling party's corruption. Not one of the promises in the TDP manifesto had been fulfilled, YS Jagan said.

Illegal sand mining was taking place in river beds across the banks of Godavari using advanced state of the art equipment and MLAs, collectors, Chinna Babu (Lokesh) and Pedda Babu (Chandrababu Naidu) all have their share of the booty, YS Jagan pointed out.

The YSRCP Chief said that Andhra region had only one place for higher studies - Andhra University in Visakhapatnam until Dr YSR established Nannaya University in Rajahmundry. He promised, when YSRCP comes to power, any medical expenditure that crosses Rs 1000 would be taken into Arogya Sri purview. Critical patients who get operated in hospitals located in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore will also be brought under the scheme, he assured.
