Former chief secretary of the state of Andhra Pradesh, IYR Krishna Rao reacted sharply to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's letter to the chief justice of High Court seeking the appointment of a high court judge into the controversy surrounding TTD jewellery of Lord Venkateswara.

The former IAS officer said that only after a clear-cut preliminary investigation can a decision on any further inquiry by a high judge be taken up.

IYR Krishna Rao also said that if Chandrababu Naidu was driven by motives of political damage caused to him in filing defamation cases against former head priest Ramana Deekshitulu and YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP, Vijaysai Reddy, he would be ill-advised to proceed legally in the matter. The former chief secretary took to twitter to say that the high court need not waste its valuable time on the issue, if "it is to face the political storm generated by these allegations", then the court need not spend any time on it, he suggested. "Political allegations have to be faced politically only," he tweeted.
