Danam Nagendar Quits Congress, TRS Entry Likely

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former Minister Danam Nagendar resigned from the Indian National Congress on Friday and is expected to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) very soon. It is learnt that Nagendar submitted his resignation to the All India Congress Committee on Friday morning.

Following his resignation, Telangana PCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, among several other leaders, are reportedly attempting to convince him to revoke his decision.

For the past few months, the former minister had been staying away from party activities in protest against lack of recognition to him. Nagendar, who is a four-time MLA, was reportedly upset after another senior leader Anjan Kumar Yadav was made the party president for its Hyderababd unit.
