TDP Govt Stalling Kadapa Steel Plant: Kanna
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh state BJP president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana said that the Centre had asked the state government to check the feasibility of establishing a steel plant in Kadapa district and send a report. In response to this, the state government had submitted the report which stated that it was not viable to start a steel plant in the district, he said.
Kanna said it was because of BJP national president Amit Shah that a task force has been created to come out with a detailed report on the feasibility of the steel plant project in Kadapa. If the state government and Mekan company jointly submit a report, the Centre would act immediately in the matter, he said.

The BJP leader said never did the Centre say that it was not possible to establish a steel plant in Kadapa and this was amply clear in the Central government's order. The TDP's malacious campaign against the Centre spread misinformation among members of the public, he observed. He asserted that the Centre would fulfill all the promises made in the AP Bifurcation Act and pointed out that it was Centre's responsibility to build a steel plant in Kadapa.
Later, the BJP state head lambasted state Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's government and said that the TDP chief was blatantly cheating people with his false promises. He said that the AP CM was trying to misguide people and portray the BJP as a villain. He questioned the sincerity of TDP leaders' statements that they would sacrifice their lives for the sake of the state. Henceforth TDP leaders should stop the betraying people, he added.
