Petrol Tanker Explosion Leads to Gas Cylinder Blast At Chengicherla, Biker Killed 

Hyderabad: A biker was killed on the spot after a cooking gas cylinder from a truck went off due to a massive fire caused by a petrol tanker blast on the main road at Chengicherla chowrasta in Medchal district, 30km from here.

The petrol tanker moving towards Ghatkesar exploded with a loud noise and the fire from the vehicle led to gas cylinder blast in another truck following it. The fire soon spread and cylinders from the truck started exploding one after another. One of the cylinders that went off hit a biker who was watching the accident from a distance. He died on the spot as the impact was powerful. Another biker who was injured was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The fire was spreading all over the place and a dozen fire engines were pressed into service to contain the blaze.

The accident caused a huge traffic stagnation on Warangal highway and hundreds of vehicles queued up for clearance at the tollgate.
