Viveka Case: YS Avinash Reddy Gets Bail for This Reason
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court granted anticipatory bail to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy because the court agreed with the argument put forth by the counsel who represented the parliamentarian in the Viveka murder case.
Speaking to Sakshi, Kadapa MP’s advocate Nagarjuna said Justice M Laxman of the vacation court bench while hearing the anticipatory bail plea the court also considered the fact there was no direct evidence available against Avinash Reddy to prove he was part of the conspiracy.
“We submitted to the court that Avinash Reddy was being deliberately targetted by the CBI which is probing the case. We informed the court that the statements of the accused persons recorded by the investigators do not mention Avinash’s name. Viveka’s murder took place during the TDP’s regime. The then government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder case and interrogated many people, however, not a single suspect took his name,” Nagarjuna told Sakshi correspondent.
While issuing the anticipatory bail to Avinash Reddy, the vacation court bench said the ‘case rests upon hear-say evidence and assumptive evidence’. The court also said the Kadapa MP has to appear before the CBI every Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm till June end. Among the other conditions of the anticipatory bail, the high court directed Avinash not to tamper the evidence and not to leave the country.
