Errabelli Dayakar Rao Clears Air Over Phone Tapping Row

 - Sakshi Post

Hanmakonda: With more leaders deserting the BRS, there were speculations that former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao would also jump ship. However, Errabelli dismissed the reports and said he had no such plans to join another party.

Addressing the media persons here on Tuesday, Errabelli said there is no truth in reports which suggest that he was leaving the BRS party. Emphasising the loyalty with the BRS, the former minister said under the leadership of KCR, he would continue to work as a foot soldier to strengthen the party.

Last week D Praneeth Kumar alias D Praneeth Rao, DSP of Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) was suspended and subsequently arrested for destroying evidence and erasing sensitive information. During interrogation, the suspended officer had said that he destroyed the evidence at the behest of SIB chief Prabhakar Rao.

He had revealed that he was allegedly instructed by Prabhakar Rao to destroy the electronic evidence at the SIB office after the embarrassing rout of BRS in the Telangana assembly polls. It is reported that Praneeth had given the names of BRS leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao to his interrogators in the probe.

Replying to a query on the phone tapping case as the arrested officer had named him, Errabelli said he is not familiar with Praneeth Rao. He added that the accused is being pressured to disclose his name in the concerned case.
