Akkineni Nagarjuna always wants to treat the audience every Sankranthi by releasing his movie. This year, he is back with Naa Saami Ranga, which hit the screens from today . The film is directed by debutant Vijay Binni. The film is produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi via his banner Srinivasaa Silver Screen. Allari Naresh, Raj Tarun and Ashika Ranganath are the lead stars in the film . Here’s review of Naa Saami Ranga:

Plot :

The story shifts from 1963 to 1988. Kistaiah (Nagarjuna) and Anji (Allari Naresh) are the best friends. The former falls in love with Varaalu (Ashika Ranganath). Will Ashika accept his love ? What happened to Raj Tarun’s love story with the daughter (Rukshar Dhillon) of a powerful man? What is Anji's rivalry with the son of a village head (played by Nassar)? Will there be tragedy? How will their lives end after 10 years?

Performance: Nagarjuna is charming in Naa Sammi Ranga. He is at his usual best. Allari Naresh does a decent job as a friend in the film . Raj Tarun is okayish . Ashika Ranganath is a show-stealer in the movie . She is one of the main reasons to watch the movie . The remaining cast of the movie shines in their respective roles. Nassar, Harshavardhan, Ravi Varma and others are seen in different roles.

Plus Points :

Combo of three actors (Nagarjuna , Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun)
Music by MM Keeravani.
Sankranthi entertainer vibes.
The heart-touching climax.
A couple of action blocks.

Minus Points :

Predictable story.
A few stretched-out scenes.

Analysis : Naa Saami Ranga's story is too predictable . The music is the backbone of so many scenes. The negative roles haven’t written well. As a result, the scenes involving them are patchy.

The film has a fairly engaging first half. It is in the second half that many episodes could have been rushed through and it would have made no difference.

In a way, after watching Nag in action films like 'The Ghost', this film comes across as a whiff of fresh air. Visually, this one is better than Bangarraju. The remake of a Malayalam movie could have benefited from better execution of the action part. Despite the competition from the other Sankranthi movies, this entertainer-cum-drama stands a good chance of having a hold at the box-office.

Verdict: Naa Saami Ranga is a decent watch for this Sankranthi.
