Ranbir Kapoor's Animal has been released in theatres. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Here's the review of Animal.

Plot: Ranvijay Singh (Ranbir Kapoor) loves his father Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor) to the core. His father is a super-rich businessman. He thirsts for revenge when his father is sought to be killed by an unknown villain. Who is the antagonist who wants to get rid of Balbir? What are his motives? Will Ranvijay be able to nab him and eliminate him? How does he go about achieving that?

Performances: Ranbir Kapoor surrenders himself to the character from beginning to end. He fits the bill perfectly. His aggressive acting in Animal is next level. Rashmika Mandanna, as the protagonist's wife Geethanjali, is good. She impresses everyone with her acting skills.

Bobby Deol gave an electrifying performance in the film. Anil Kapoor shines in his role. They both complement in each other with their contrasting personalities and scenes although they are never seen together in any frame.

Plus Points:

The performances by Ranbir and Anil Kapoor
Interval fight & Climax fight
Action blocks helmed by a diverse set of stunt masters
The climax scene involving the father-son duo.
Background music

Minus Points:

Boring second half
Stretched Drama
Excessive bloodshed and too bold talk

Analysis:

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh fame makes the most important film of his career. If this film works at the box office, he will be on par with Prashanth Neel and Lokesh Kanagaraj. Since he is a Telugu filmmaker, the audience from AP and Telangana have a special bias towards him.

Animal has a running time of 203 minutes. This is as bold and audacious as it gets. The second half is filled with a few unnecessary scenes. Why did the Editor not remove some of them? Is it because the Editor is none other than the director himself? The bias and misplaced love shows.

Netizens have already started joking that the film has an excellent first half and a superb third half. Only the second half is boring. They mean to say that the last 30 minutes of the film is a separate segment in itself.

Verdict: Animal is intense, bold, and action-loaded but prolonged. Go and watch it if you are prepared for this.
