Superstar Mahesh Babu and S.S. Rajamouli narrowly avoided major travel disruptions by leaving Dubai just before the city was hit by severe flash flooding and torrential rains. Their timely departure has relieved fans who were worried about the duo.

The flooding caused extreme water logging and forced the cancellation of all major flights from Dubai International Airport. Reports indicate even VIP travellers faced wait times of nearly 48 hours. Some passengers were forced to spend the night sleeping on the airport floor due to the overwhelming situation.

Mahesh Babu was returning from Italy while Rajamouli had been in Dubai for pre-production meetings on their highly anticipated #SSMB29 project when the flooding hit. Touted as the most expensive film ever in Indian cinema, 'SSMB29' will mark the first collaboration between the superstar and the acclaimed director.

Fans had been concerned that disruptions from the Dubai flooding could impact the SSMB29 production schedule. However, the key personnel managed to depart before the worst of the weather, easing those anxieties.

While the full extent of the damage is still being evaluated, it appears Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli were able to make a fortunate escape and are now safely back in India to continue preparing their massive new film project.
