Raj Kundra Did Not Make Porn Movies, It's Erotica: Shilpa Shetty
Following Husband Raj Kundra’s arrest, Shilpa Shetty has been the subject of questioning and scrutiny. She was investigated by the police. Shetty said that she did not have much idea about what the app ‘Hotshots’ was.
She shared that she did not know much about the app but also believed that there is a huge difference between erotica and pornography. While Kundra was arrested for his alleged involvement in the production and distribution of pornographic content, wife Shilpa Shetty said that it is not the case. What he was making is erotica and not porn.
Mumbai Crime Branch registered a case in February 2021 over the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. The case has been booked for allegedly forcing actors to shoot nude scenes for pornographic films. The police stated that these films were streamed on paid mobile applications. ‘Hotshots’ is the paid streaming app where all the content was shared.
Apart from Kundra, his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi who is currently based in London was also involved in this case. Police seized all the material from Kundra’s home. 48 TB worth of videos, clips, and images were found. Also, there is a bank account under his name in Yes Bank. There are multiple transactions made which are allegedly for the sale of adult content.

Speaking on the matter, Kundra’s lawyer Abad Ponda added that the police did not make the charges correctly. They registered the case under Section 67 of the IT Act (where bail isn’t allowed) whereas they should have done it under Section 292 of the Indian Penal Code. The content that he produced is openly streamed on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc, then how is it any different.
Sources say that Poonam Pandey had filed a case against Raj Kundra and his associates in Bombay High court. She stated that they have been illegally using her content even after the contract between them was terminated. However, Kundra and Saurabh Kushwah denied her claims.
