YS Jagan's Memantha Siddham, A Roaring Success: Strikes Chords with Masses, Sends Oppn into Huddle!

 - Sakshi Post

Curtains came down on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Memantha Siddham bus yatra which concluded in Srikakulam on Wednesday. While addressing a massive gathering CM Jagan slammed the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for making fraudulent promises during the election season. He also advised the voters not to fall prey to the false assurances of the TDP-JanaSena-BJP alliance.

Journey began from Idupulapaya

CM Jagan began the 21-day massive statewide bus yatra aptly titled "Memantha Siddham" after paying homage to his father and former united Andhra Pradesh  chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy at the YSR Ghat at Idupulapaya on Wednesday, March 27. The yatra was aimed at creating awareness among the people about the welfare programmes and to highlight the development works undertaken by his YSRCP government over the last five years.

Overwhelming response to yatra

The people of Kadapa set the tone for the next 3 weeks yatra by coming out in huge numbers to express their support and gratitude to the chief minister for introducing several welfare schemes that have touched every section of society. A sea of people, young and old, lined up the streets to welcome their Jagananna. The regions competed against each other in welcoming the CM Jagan’s bus yatra. The yatra received massive support from people in Rayalaseema. However, the turnout and expression of support for the chief minister was overwhelming in the coastal districts. And, this unwavering support rattled the TDP-JanaSena-BJP alliance.

YSRCP’s development model

Addressing a massive rally at Proddatur, CM Jagan said his government has successfully deposited 2.77 lakh crore rupees directly into the people's accounts over a period of 58 months. The most notable feature of Memamtha Siddham bus yatra was beneficiaries, including women and the physically challenged, of various welfare schemes approaching the chief minister to express their gratitude to CM Jagan during the interactive sessions which were held along the way. The locals became emotional while explaining their issues and how the YSRCP government came forward to help them.

Naidu known for scams not schemes

In addition to the interactive sessions with the locals, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed public meetings too. During his meetings, CM Jagan cautioned the people that voting for Naidu in the May 13 elections would set the state back by ten years. He said the moment you take Chandrababu's name, you get reminded of scams not the schemes. Targetinng Naidu over 'bacha' remark, the chief minister said historically, when villains are about to lose, they see all the heroes as bachas. He slammed Naidu for deliberately conspiring against the volunteers who distribute pensions on the first of every month. He also said the opposition parties have only joined forces to oppose the progress his government has made during the 58 months.

In his speeches, CM Jagan explained how the YSRCP government put an end to corruption and introduced transparency in the model of governance. He listed out the revolutionary changes brought out in the education sector and how schemes like Amma Vodi etc are helping to promote education in the state.

'Battle of Kurukshetra'

The chief minister termed the upcoming elections as the 'Battle of Kurukshetra' and said the people are his star campaigners. He explained how the party is ushering in social justice by encouraging the SCs, STs, BCs, and minorities. He said the ruling party has always been a strong support system for the poor. During the public meeting, he introduced Veeranjaneyulu, the party’s MLA candidate from Singanamala constituency, who is a tipper driver.

Each day the Memantha Siddham bus yatra was growing from strength to strength and this had unsettled the opposition TDP. As the yatra was passing through the Ajit Singh Nagar Dhaba Kotla Centre in Vijayawada, the so-called stronghold of TDP, a murder attempt was made on the chief minister with a stone.

Murder attempt on CM Jagan

CM Jagan sustained an injury on his left eyebrow in the attack while his party colleague Vellampalli Srinivas received an injury in his left eye. Despite the serious attack, the chief minister remained strong and didn't lose his temper. Just before the attack the chief minister’s wife YS Bharati joined the crowd to express her support when the bus was passing through Tadepalli junction. After receiving the first aid, the chief minister continued his journey. He didn’t take any break or suspended his yatra to seek people's sympathy.

Heart-touching moments

The bus yatra also witnessed several heart-touching moments when the differently-abled and terminally ill people who came to see the chief minister who invited them over from the crowd and patiently heard their concerns and directed the officials to provide them necessary assistance. He also met a few of his ardent followers during the yatra – Radhamma, an old woman admirer,  Venkayamma of Ramireddypalem, who was running without slippers in the scorching heat to catch a glimpse of CM Jagan and a 45-year-old Dudekula Kasim of Nandyal, who had taken a vow to walk bare-foot until he meets CM Jagan after he wins power like his father.

Signature Style of Introducing MLA and MP Candidates

CM Jagan introduced the MLA and MP candidates of YSRCP at the end of every Siddham public meeting addressed. The way Jagan introduced the candidates has struck chords with the masses and it has become his signature style. He also displayed YSRCP's election symbol Fan in his style. Jagan also walked the huge ramp at these meetings and got close to the masses, setting new precedent in political meetings. The video glimpses of all these have gone viral. CM's introduction boosted the morale and cheered the respective followers of these candidates and the party cadre. While the opposition is still grappling with the finalising of its candidates, how CM Jagan is way ahead of his peers and opponents conveys it all. He is pretty confident about achieving his target of 175/175 MLAs and 25/25 MPs. Meanwhile, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to file his nomination in Pulivendula today. Overall, Memantha Siddham is a phenomenal success marking a new milestone in the history of AP.
