YS Jagan Again as CM: Top Surveys

ap-elections-2024-latest-survey-updates-on-ap-politics-Sakshi Post

The upcoming Andhra Pradesh elections are crucial as dozens of poll surveys both national and regional have predicted that the ruling YSRCP will retain power with a landslide majority while the key opposition TDP despite joining NDA bloc and forging alliance with Jana Sena Party (JSP) appears to be losing the ground in the May 13 polls.

The ruling party is contesting the polls on the development plank. The development model adopted by the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government and its welfare agenda are working in the favour of the current dispensation in the pre-poll survey.

On the contrary, the key opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is dependent on the support of allies like Jana Sena Party (JSP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win the forthcoming elections. It is not clear how this tripartite pre-poll arrangement is going to work as leaders of these parties have been critical of each other till the Election Commission announced the election schedule for May 13 polls.

Nonetheless, the pre-poll surveys except ABP News-CVoter Survey have not favoured the opposition alliance as its leaders Chandrababu Naidu (TDP), Pawan Kalyan (JSP) and Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP) lack credibility among the voters. Many in the opposition camp were surprised when the ABP News-CVoter Survey put the NDA-led opposition bloc ahead of people’s favourite YSRCP in upcoming polls.

These parties are also hoping that a section of the friendly media like Eenadu, Andhra Jyoti and TV 5 would influence the electorate and help them come back to power in the state. The yellow media is trying to tarnish the image of the ruling party and its government through its misleading media campaigns.

Meanwhile, Times Now-ETG Survey has predicted that YSRCP will bag 19-20 Lok Sabha seats in the General elections. Based on the ruling party’s electoral performance in Lok Sabha elections, one can deduce that the party will win a record 150 assembly seats.

Other pollsters’s predictions for the YSRCP in the forthcoming elections:

Zee News-MATRIZE poll - YSRCP to get 133 assembly seats

Bharat political survey - YSRCP to win 150-156 assembly seats

Deccan 24/7 polling survey - YSRCP to bag 135-140 seats

News Arena India survey - YSRCP to win 127 seats

Chanakya survey - YSRCP to get 102-107 assembly seats

Janmat Polls survey - YSRCP to secure victory in 120-123 assembly seats

Atmasakshi survey - YSRCP predicted to win between 97-118 seats
