Prasad (33 years old) and Aparna (30 years old), both hailing from Metapalli village, finally got a chance to meet their real-life hero, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today.

Here’s a peek into their story:

Prasad and his wife Aparna are both physically challenged. They completed TTC and B.Ed in 2015 and, after getting married, were hoping for a smooth life. However, under the TDP government, they did not receive pensions, nor was any provision made for them to obtain a government job. Unfortunately, in an effort to sustain themselves, they started working as daily labourers at a sculptor’s shop.

But since 2019, their lives have taken an upward turn, all thanks to the YSRCP government that increased pensions for the disabled from Rs 1500 to Rs 3000. So now, under the YSRCP government, the couple is receiving financial assistance of Rs 6000 per month without fail. This amount is helping them sustain themselves directly and indirectly aiding them in preparing for government jobs. The best part is, that both of them recently qualified TET and are preparing for DSC.

In their family, their parents too are receiving pension kanuka along with other welfare benefits. Today, they presented a token of love - a picture of CM Jagan - for CM Jagan at the Gram Sabha in Yerraguntla.
