MLC Shaik Sabjee Dies in Fatal Road Accident

In a tragic road accident, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council member (MLC) Sheikh Sabjee died in a fatal road accident. The unfortunate incident unfolded when his car collided head-on with another vehicle on the Cherukuwada National Highway in Undi Mandal of West Godavari district. He died on the spot due to the collision's impact.

The accident took place when he was returning from participating in a protest supporting the Anganwadi workers’ strike, travelling from Eluru to Bhimavaram. He represented the East-West Godavari Teachers' constituency.

The collision inflicted serious injuries on the MLC’s car driver, gunman, and personal assistant, who were promptly rushed to the hospital. Upon reaching the accident scene, the police initiated an investigation. It was observed that Sheikh Sabjee wasn't wearing a seat belt during the incident, contributing to severe injuries to his chest and head, ultimately leading to his untimely demise.

The MLC’s body was transported to the hospital. Police are gathering more details surrounding the accident. 

CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock and condoled his sudden demise. State Cabinet Ministers, YSRCP leaders and teachers union members have mourned the loss of MLC Sheikh Sabji. This accident emphasised the importance of road safety measures.
