Why Missamma Scene Was Deleted From Mahanati?

Mahanati, the biopic of erstwhile Telugu heroine Savitri has been a huge success. The film has been appreciated by critics as well as the general public, The film continues to be a box office sensation in both the Telugu states. The success of the film is also being relished by Tollywood.

The Telugu film industry is going gaga over the director of Mahanati Nag Ashwin and its producers for having walked on a terrain that was rarely touched by Telugu filmmakers and most importantly even enjoy success from the outing. The film has been receiving great response from day one of its release.

Keeping in view the duration of Mahanati, the filmmakers had to cut down many scenes. The producers are now uploading the edited sequences on Youtube. Latest is that they have released a sequence from the Tamil version of the film which was a song from Missamma or Missiamma as in Tamil. The song Varayo Vennilave (Ravoyi Chandamama) has been uploaded on Youtube. This scene isn't there in the released film.

The original song features Gemini Ganesan and Savitri and Mahanati has Dulquer and Keerthy Suresh featured in the song. It has been well shot and deserves special mention. But why did they remove such a wonderful scene was beyond anyone's comprehension. After having a look at the song on Youtube many were of the opinion that the song sequence should have been included in the film. Only filmmakers would be able to spell out the correct reasons for removing the song from Mahanati.

Meanwhile the run at the box office has been impressive and the film has collected over Rs 30 crores till date. The film also features Samantha, Vijay Devarakonda and Rajendra Prasad among others.
