Owaisi Dares Modi, Shah To Contest From Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi while addressing a meeting here, threw an open challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah. He dared them to contest from Hyderabad in the 2019 general elections.

The Lok Sabha member accused the Congress, BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh of making collective efforts to defeat the MIM in the city. On Friday night, the Hyderabad MP attended a public meeting in remembrance of his father, the then MIM president, late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi.

I am ready to face PM Modi in the election battle, Owaisi said. "I challenge the Prime Minister and Amit Shah to contest from Hyderabad and defeat me. If PM Modi does not contest, the BJP President should," he said. The Congress and BJP are not capable of defeating the MIM in the city he added.

The Prime Minister failed to speak on the lynching victims in Hapur during his recent visit to Saint Kabir mausoleum, the MP said, adding that PM Modi remained silent even after President Ram Nath Kovind was ill-treated during his visit to a temple in Odisha.
