Depressed Girl Commits Suicide After Boyfriend Dies of Heart Attack

Chennai: Unable to cope with the depression following her lover's sudden death, a 20-year-old law student committed suicide in a here on Saturday night. According to reports, Ashwini, a resident of Thiruvottiyur in the city, was allegedly in love with Shettipur resident Thennavan.

Last month, when Ashwini's parents went out of town to attend a function, the two met each other at her house. Thennavan suffered a heart attack and died on the spot. Depressed over Thennavan's death, Ashwini committed suicide when she was alone at home on Saturday. The police arrived at the spot and shifted her body to Stanley government hospital. A case has been filed and investigation is underway.
