Husband Cheating on Me, In-Laws Harassing Me: Skater Ruchika Jain

Hyderabad: National Skating Champion Ruchika Jain lodged a complaint at the Begumpet Women's Police Station saying she was facing threats and harassment from her husband, Akshay Kataria.

Ruchika Jain is a gold medalist in Skating and has bagged laurels in many national tournaments. In her complaint, Jain stated that her husband and his family were threatening and harassing her. The couple got married on December 11 last year and Akshay’s family started harassing her soon after their marriage. The trouble started after her husband refused to take her on a honeymoon.

“After marriage, Akshay started avoiding me. He leaves the house at 11 o'clock and returns in the early next day. When I checked his mobile, I found that he is chatting with a woman constantly on whatsapp.” She also alleged that her in-laws started threatening her when she told the police. “They harassed me mentally, physically and psychologically,” she stated.

The police registered a case under Sections 406, 498A and 506 of Indian Penal Code. “Following her complaint, the investigation has started,” said Begumpet women police.
